Internships and Co-ops

Internships

Internships are typically for the summer break. These opportunities are arranged by students with corporations or institutions on an individual basis, and do not involve the ECE Department or the University of Minnesota. No academic credit is granted for an internship.

Co-ops

Starting Fall 2006 the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will join with the Mechanical Engineering Department to have a combined Co-op Program. This program is for three alternating semesters, alternating with regular academic semester coursework. If you wish to participate in this program, you must attend the Fall semester Interview Week Program for Electrical/Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students (this is not affiliated with any IT Career Fairs). Your earliest co-op assignment would then be during the Spring 2007 semester. All details can be found at the Mechanical Engineering Co-op Web site.
