Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
|
||
| For Teachers The Summer Research Experience for Teachers (RET) is a unique opportunity for Minnesota high school physics and chemistry teachers to immerse themselves in cutting-edge electrical and computer engineering research. The teachers have the opportunity to work with undergraduates in the REU or to implement their own research projects using the university's world-class laboratory facilities. The goal is to provide teachers with an invigorating, intellectually stimulating summer experience that will carry over into their classroom teaching and inspire future generations of science students into undergraduate and post-graduate engineering study. Two teachers are selected from a pool of applicants to complete a six-week internship, concurrent with the Research Experience for Undergraduates summer program. The internship offers a stipend of $8,000 and the benefit of flexible scheduling. Each teacher may select to work full time for six weeks of the summer program or work part-time (the equivalent of 240 hours) over the 10-week summer program.
