Minneapolis/ St. Paul

The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus is located along the banks of the Mississippi River just east of downtown Minneapolis. In addition to many on-campus attractions, including Big 10 sports and highly acclaimed art and theatre venues, the U of M benefits from a culturally vibrant surrounding community. The Twin Cities area is know for being an amazing mix of the fast paced downtown, and the beautiful parks and lakes that surround.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul area  has lots to see and do, including:

• miles of hiking and walking trails, including St. Anthony Falls, Minnehaha Park,  and Ft. Snelling State Park
• swimming beaches and boating at beautiful lakes throughout the Twin Cities area. Popular Minneapolis lakes include Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun
• professional sports teams, including Minnesota Twins baseball, Saint Paul Saints minor-league baseball, Minnesota Timberwolves basketball, Minnesota Lynx basketball, Minnesota Wild hockey and Minnesota Vikings football
• acclaimed museums including the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minnesota Children's Museum and the Science Museum of Minnesota
• a burgeoning theatre scene, offering venues such as the Guthrie Theater, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, the Fitzgerald Theatre, and the Historic State and Orpheum Theatres
